Our extensive exam preparation course totals 52.5 hours of
specialised training preparing for the ILEC exam in May 2012. Each
class is limited to 15 participants.
Our course will be based on the suggested Coursebook International
Legal English by Amy Krois-Lindner and TransLegal (published by
Cambridge), and will cover all the substantive law topics, as well
as the legal skills expected to be demonstrated for the exam. Your
instructor has actual practice experience in all topic areas. In
addition to experience as an examiner, he also conducts specialised
legal writing workshops for practising lawyers, Ministries and other
law-related professionals. As this is a Cambridge exam, the emphasis
is on British Legal English throughout.
Full details of the ILEC course and the examination process are set
out on the Cambridge website
www.legalenglishtest.org.
Our Saturday Short-cut to ILEC classes give you insight into the
ILEC examination process as well as training and practise in the
four examination skills – reading, writing, speaking and listening.
To maximise your chances of success of success, you will be expected
to undertake a range of set tasks between sessions. Your instructor
will give you personalised feedback and coaching on the home tasks.
You will also benefit from working together with other participants
and from tips and handouts to help you understand the ILEC exam from
the examiners’ perspective.
The Saturday programme has been particularly designed to help those
who are unable to attend classes during the working week, or who
live outside Prague and have no access locally to quality ILEC
preparation and training. As this course is approximately 60% of our
extensive weekly programme, participants must be prepared to
undertake home tasks and reading between sessions.
